Resumen: Composition in ordinary 1-categories is strictly unital, and it's known that every weak 2-category is equivalent to a 2-category with strict units, a useful theorem that makes 2-categories easier to work with. But what does it mean for an n-category, or even an infinity-category, to have strict units? In this talk I give an accessible introduction to infinity categories, and use lots of examples to illustrate the theory of strict units for infinity-categories. This is joint work with Eric Finster and David Reutter (arXiv:2007.08307).
